Suitability and the regulatory landscape
suitability and regulation
Options are regulated as complex, higher-risk instruments: access often requires an approval process assessing the trader's experience and understanding, retail access to the riskiest strategies (naked selling) is frequently restricted, and the whole apparatus exists because options are the instrument most capable of ruining an unprepared retail trader. The track's education-only stance meets its regulatory context here: options are gated for a reason, and the reason is the risk the whole track has flagged.
